I little while back I was transferring a domain from GoDaddy to Route 53. I didn’t turn off the private registration, nor did GoDaddy flag this or prevent me from going through the transfer process.
So about a day later the transfer process failed. I figured out what the issue was and initiated the process again in AWS.
When I checked my billing, I found out that I had been charged the price of a domain both times.
I looked onto, but couldn’t find anything about this, so I contacted customer support.
AWS customer support resolved the issue for me.
I thought I would give a heads up in case anyone else encountered this issue.
